KIND-HEARTED students at Darlington College rolled into action recently to raise money for their classmate to buy a wheelchair.
Youngsters on the Pathways course staged a series of events to raise the money for student Terri Litten who was facing a two-year wait for a wheelchair and finding life on crutches a struggle.
Terri, 18, from Darlington, was born with an unknown condition that affected her legs, meaning she relies on crutches.
She said: "My legs are getting worse and I was finding it difficult on crutches, so I'm really pleased to get my first wheelchair."
Events included the students singing Christmas songs, and contributing to a piggy bank every time they committed a mild misdemeanour; an initiative that also included staff.
