STUDENT fundraisers have jumped at the chance to help charity.
A 12-hour bounce-athon at the University of Teesside marked the end of Raise and Give (Rag) week at the weekend.
The fundraiser, from March 6 until March 12, which is held twice a year, was organised by the Students' Union Rag committee, with all of the funds donated locally.
Other energetic activities included a dodge ball competition last Tuesday, a netball tournament on Saturday and a raffle to win a Middlesbrough football club shirt signed by England international Stewart Downing.
Arwyn Davies, chairman of Rag, said: "We're hoping this is the biggest and best Rag week we've ever run.
"We're particularly pleased to be donating all the funds locally and hopefully these kinds of activities show that the traditional view of students as lazy and self-involved is very outdated."
