MEMBERS of a city's leisure centres are now able to book a badminton court from home or anywhere, as more services go online.
A Durham City Council spokesman said the authority was committed to enabling as many of its services as possible to be accessible via the Internet.
He said: "Leisure services is launching Leisure Online, which will allow customers to book a number of facilities using the internet.
"To use this service will require at least a casual membership at any one of our five leisure centres, which is available free."
On completion of an application form, users of the five leisure centres around the city will be added to the leisure database and issued with a swipe card, membership number and a pin number.
The membership and pin numbers will be required to log in to the leisure booking pages via City of Durham Leisure Services or online at http://leisureonline.durhamcity. gov.uk
Some of the activities that can be booked include five-a-side football, badminton, short tennis, basketball, and exercise classes.
