YOUNG performers are limbering up for the performance of their lives.
The Gala Theatre Stage School held open auditions in Durham and Newcastle to find a group of talented youngsters to join the Fame cast.
The auditions attracted nearly 50 people, from whom 22 were selected for the production of Fame The Musical. Rehearsals have just begun, under the direction of Kiz Crosbie.
Ms Crosbie said: "We have some of the best talent that the North-East has to offer and I have the pleasure of working with them all.
"We only have four weeks to put this show together, but the cast are working brilliantly and I have no doubt they will produce a brilliant show."
Gala Theatre Stage School director Kate Sorahan said: "The cast consists of past and current members of the Senior Stage School and we also have attracted new members to tread the boards with us."
Fame The Musical is at the Gala Theatre, Durham, from April 6 to 8,with performances at 7.30pm and a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets from the box office on 191-332 4041.
