THE BISHOP of Hexham and Newcastle visited a Roman Catholic school yesterday to bless a chapel due to be reopened as part of an £8m refurbishment.
The Right Reverend Kevin Dunn was at St John's RC Comprehensive School, in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, to rededicate the chapel, which, along with the rest of the school, will reopen soon.
With youngsters, two from each parish of the school, the bishop performed a Mass and a blessing.
The opening coincided with the school mission, a day of activities and events to teach young people about Christianity and the church.
