A RECRUITMENT website part-owned by The Northern Echo is attracting more job seekers than any other online jobs site in the UK.
The fish4jobs site is visited by more than 1.6 million people every month, according to the Noras 2006 survey (National Online Recruitment Audience Survey).
Fish4jobs.co.uk, which carries more than 40,000 vacancies at any one time, powers the 'jobs search' section on www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk, The Northern Echo's website.
The vacancies come from all sectors, but the site specialises in retail, sales, engineering, customer service, call centre, construction, driving and IT.
Sean Mahon, fish4's marketing director, said: "At fish4jobs, we pride ourselves on carrying a multitude of vacancies all over the UK, including the North-East. Not only that, but more and more candidates are registering their CV with us so that recruiters can find them."
Nearly 50 per cent of fish4job users have found a job by using the website.
Peter Barron, editor of The Northern Echo, said: "This research shows that our readers are increasingly using our website in conjunction with fish4jobs, making our website the first port of call when looking for new, local positions."
