PEOPLE in part of Darlington who are interested in making a difference to their area are invited to become involved in a local community partnership.
The Skerne Park and Parkside Community Partnership wants to extend to cover all the Park East ward.
The partnership is made up of people who have joined the group to improve the quality of life in the area.
They meet regularly to consider all aspects of community life, identify areas that require improvement, and work towards finding solutions and making changes.
Because it will be including more people from the ward, the partnership will be called the Park East Community Partnership.
The group is holding a meeting on Monday, March 20, in the main hall of Skerne Park Primary School, within the new community building on Coleridge Gardens.
The meeting starts at 6.30pm and everyone is invited to attend.
At a meeting of the Lifelong Learning Scrutiny Committee earlier this week, the group was told that residents had been putting forward suggestions for a name for the community building in Skerne Park.
The council has given the centre the working name Riverside Centre, but after objections from the community, the council carried out a public consultation, which is continuing.
For more information on becoming involved in the partnership, contact Joanne Scott, community development worker, on (01325) 388457.
