DANCERS are turning up the heat for fundraisers by challenging them to a TV-style finale.
Dance Inferno: The Heat of the Dance is an initiative to raise funds for the Butterwick Hospice, which cares for sick children and adults.
Volunteers will go to local dance schools to be taught to dance and perform a sequence in just a matter of weeks.
Performers will then come under the spotlight to display their talents in a dance show on Saturday, May 20.
Modern, tap, ballroom and Latin are the four styles that have been selected and the hospice is asking the public to get involved.
Application forms are available and the closing date for entries is noon on Friday. Those interested in taking part should call Nicola Fewell on (01642) 624231.
Smith & Jacques Dance School will teach Latin and ballroom, Stagecoach will teach modern and jazz and Emma Risbrough School of Dance will teach tap.
Dancers will be assessed by judges and four winners from the heats will perform in a dance showdown, aiming to win Dance Inferno 2006.
The event will be held at The Oakwood Centre, in Stockton, which will also have live music and refreshments.
Tickets to watch the event are available from by calling (01642) 624231.
