A DARLINGTON photographer endured a cold snap on his latest shoot.
David Glen Walker, from Recognition PR, photographed two Arctic explorers during their rigorous training programme in North Canada.
Mr Walker was commissioned to document Conrad Dickinson, from Hexham, Northumberland, and Richard Weber on the final days of their training.
The trekkers will attempt a 60-day unsupported expedition across the North Pole.
Mr Walker, 31, spent a week with the pair in the Inuit town of Iqualuit on the outskirts of the Arctic Circle. He had to complete his training prior to the shoot.
He said: "I met Conrad when I was making a personal visit to Geneva and we began talking about how we would be able to bring back images from such an alien environment.
"I was thrilled when the guys invited me to join them and I didn't have to think twice.
"This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, despite the below-freezing temperatures.
"The fierce conditions made the photography extremely hard, and with Richard and Conrad each pulling sleds weighing over 150 kilos, the three of us were really up against it."
