A VILLAGE hall on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales now has a storeroom in keeping with its surroundings.
Cash from Yorventure has allowed the trustees of the village hall at Hudswell, near Richmond, to rebuild the storeroom in traditional materials.
The hall is a former school, with a bell tower and blue slate roof, but the building was being let down by a storeroom with a shabby asbestos roof.
But the £2,763 Yorventure grant has helped to pay for it to be rebuilt using reclaimed stone and with a blue slate roof in keeping with the original building.
Hudswell Village Hall Trust management committee also contributed to the project.
Committee member Mrs Pat Whelan said: "The work has made a real difference - the storeroom looks as if it's always been there and the National Park were delighted when they saw what an improvement we had made."
The storeroom houses the boiler for the hall as well as equipment, tables and chairs.
