YOUNGSTERS at a Teesside school enjoyed a theatrical distraction during their lessons after a creative pupil won a writing competition.
Konflux Theatre in Education spent the day at Huntcliff School, Saltburn, giving the students the opportunity to try out their acting skills.
Year eight pupil Pippa Woodford won the Collect4School Write to Recycle competition with her account of the plight of the planet in 50 years' time if there is no increase in recycling.
As a result, 30 students enjoyed a day-long workshop before giving a 15-minute performance called Talking Rubbish.
