TWO sixth form pupils from the same school have been chosen to represent their country at an international conference.
Hannah Harvey and Jack Skinner, both from Polam Hall School, in Darlington, are to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference, this summer.
A series of conferences, held in New York and Washington, will be attended by delegates from around the world.
Hannah, 18, of Sadberge, Darlington, and Jack, 17, of Welbury, North Yorkshire, were put forward by headteacher Marie Green.
Jack said: "It is an opportunity for young representatives from leading nations in the world to get together in the form of a United Nations summit.
"It does involve a number of nations, so it is a great honour to be picked."
Jack said: "It is very surprising for two of us from the same school to be chosen. Two from the same region would be quite big."
The pair now need to raise about £2,500 by the end of the month to pay for travel expenses and tuition fees.
To sponsor either of the pupils, contact the school on (01325) 463383.
