THE story of a seafaring goat has captured the imagination of young book lovers.
The Adventures of Nanny Twice tells the tale of the goat that sailed around the world with Captain James Cook on his first voyage, which set sail in 1768.
The book is based on a series of collage pictures created by young people and volunteers from across the town.
The book was launched at Middlesbrough's Captain Cook Birthplace Museum yesterday, on Thursday, as it was put together by Jenny Phillips, the education officer at the museum.
She said: "The project was really fun to do, and the finished book is good quality, bright and appealing to young readers. I am sure it will serve as an unusual introduction to Captain Cook for the very young and their families."
The book is on sale in the museum shop and costs £2.99.
