TWO sixth form pupils from the same school have been chosen to represent their country.
Hannah Harvey and Jack Skinner, both from Polam Hall School in Darlington, will attend the Global Young Leaders Conference this summer.
The series of conferences, held in New York and Washington, will be attended by delegates from across the world.
Hannah, 18, of Sadberge, Darlington, and Jack, 17, of Welbury, North Yorkshire, were nominated by headteacher Marie Green.
Jack said: "It does involve a number of nations so it is a great honour to be picked."
Previous delegates have included Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi Annan.
Jack added: "It is very surprising for two of us from the same school to be chosen. Two from the same region would be quite big."
The pair now need to raise about £2,500 to pay for travel expenses and tuition fees.
