WORLD Book Day takes place tomorrow - and North Yorkshire will be playing its part.
The county council is joining in with the BBC's biggest-ever adult literacy campaign, Read and Write, known as RaW.
The county's library and information centres will be celebrating by offering the public a chance to take part in the campaign and win prizes.
The authority's executive member for adult and community services, Chris Metcalfe, said: "The RaW campaign is a really important step forward to introducing the pleasure of reading to a new audience."
Northallerton Book Shop has donated five £5 book vouchers to be awarded to prize winners at library and information centres in Bedale, Easingwold, Great Ayton, Northallerton, Stokesley and Thirsk.
