A businessman who helped turn around the financial fortunes of Leeds United has set up a buyout fund to bankroll business growth in the region.
Darren Forshaw, former director with Ernst and Young, who advised on the restructuring of Leeds United, has set up Endless LLP, a £100m buyout and turnaround fund.
In the three months since it was established, Endless has made a number of investments in companies across the UK.
Mr Forshaw said he was looking for businesses in the North-East and North Yorkshire to invest in.
He said he believed the North-East was a dynamic region.
He said: "The region appears to have suffered from a lack of attention from investors in recent years, as there is a clear demand for equity funding, judging by the interest we have received already."
