BEST PRODUCTION: Film company Twenty First Century Media was recognised at the North-East and Borders Centre Royal Television Society Awards, in Gateshead. The company won the "best production for a target audience" category for its hard-hitting work with South Tyneside Youth Inclusion Programme. The winning film, The Whole Story, tackled anti-social behaviour in the community.
EXPORT AWARD: Pipeline Engineering, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, has been awarded the Northern Offshore Federation Export Achievement Award 2005. The award recognises the company's growth, with export sales increasing by 300 per cent in the last four years.
BUILDING PRAISED: A visual arts centre designed by Darlington's Niven Architects has been honoured in a city's architectural awards. The million pound building, at Durham Sixth Form Centre, was awarded an Architectural Commendation of the Year by the City of Durham Trust.
BEST COACH: Middlesbrough's business coach Ian Kinnery has been named North-East and Cumbria Coach of the Year by Action International, the UK's biggest business coaching organisation.
DIRECTOR HONOURED: Andrew Pickett, of Esh Group, in Durham, has been named among the top finance directors in the UK at the FDs Excellence Awards, organised by the CBI and Real Finance magazine, in association with Bank of Scotland Corporate. Mr Pickett is on the shortlist in the private company category.
