POLICE have released the name of a motorist who died in a crash.
David Harrison, 26, known as Jack, died after a car crash outside Tesco in South Shields at 7.30pm on Friday. He suffered head injuries when his green Rover 420 was in collision with a red Vauxhall Vectra at the junction of Newcastle Road and Henderson Road.
The Vectra driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with arm injuries. He was arrested for being unfit to drive though drink or drugs and bailed.
