FOUR teenagers from north Durham have completed the first chapter of their careers in the British Army.

They passed out of the Infantry Training Centre, at Pirbright, Surrey, after the completion of their basic military training.

The four young men, three of whom grew up together in Consett, were watched by their proud parents as they took part in the pass out parade at the Army Training Regiment.

Privates Tim Graham, Anthony Lavery and Lee Henley, from Consett, along with Kevin Stones, from Durham, will all now embark on careers as drivers in the Royal Logistics Corps.

Pte Lavery is following his older brother into the Royal Logistics Corps.

He said: "Over the past 12 weeks, I have made some great friends. Obviously, I was already friendly with Tim and Anthony, from Consett, but I have made some other great friends and the camaraderie between the team is one of the best things about being in the Army."
