A SOLDIER who was killed as he tried to cross the A1(M) in County Durham has been named.
Adam David Lloyd was 23-years-old and had been at the Infantry Training Centre at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire for three months.
He was hit by a white van as he was crossing the northbound carriageway A1(M), south of the Burtree junction, near Darlington, shortly before 2.30am on Thursday.
Mr Lloyd, from Bristol, was going to join the Parachute Regiment of the Army.
