DRIVERS on two busy roads are being targeted by a speed awareness campaign.
A speed indication device is being used for a day this month on Hull Road and Shipton Road, in York.
It alerts drivers when they are breaking the speed limit by flashing the words Slow Down.
The locations were chosen because the majority of road injuries occur on the main routes in and around the city.
A police spokesman said: "This initiative will hopefully make those who exceed the limit take more responsibility and reduce their speed."
