A FAST food restaurant worker tried to rape a teenage woman when the pair were alone at the premises late at night, a court was told.
Kevin James Abson is accused of soaking the 16-year-old in soapy water before carrying out a sex attack when she went to change out of her wet clothing.
Durham Crown Court was told the incidents took place at the fast food restaurant, in Consett, on November 24, 2004.
Nick Peacock, prosecuting, said when the woman did not return home on time, her parents called the police.
He said when she arrived back, she said she was fine, but later told her parents what had taken place, and the police were informed.
Mr Abson, of Edwardian Court, Consett, denies attempted rape and sexual assault.
Under cross-examination, the alleged victim denied inventing a tissue of lies, to try to explain her late return home to her parents.
