BUDGET retailer Primark is creating 20 jobs with the relocation of one of its stores in the region.
The clothing chain is moving from its site on Northgate, Darlington, into the former Littlewoods store within the town's Cornmill Centre.
The move, due to take place in the autumn, will create 20 jobs, increasing the number of staff the Primark employs in the town from 55 to 75.
A spokesman for the company yesterday confirmed the move but said it was uncertain what would happen to the store on Northgate.
Primark's parent company Associated British Foods, which owns brands including Twinings, Ryvita and Kingsmill bread, acquired 120 Littlewoods stores in a £409m deal in July last year.
It retained 41 sites and sold the rest.
Littlewoods used to employ 21 people at its Darlington store
