TWO County Durham recruits are among the latest trainee sailors to complete a Navy course.
Jody Beckingham, from Newton Aycliffe, and Anton Stanford, from Cockerton, Darlington, passed their training at HMS Raleigh in Cornwall.
The pair joined the Royal Navy in November and spent eight weeks training at the base.
Jody, 16, a former pupil of Greenfield School Community and Arts College, in Newton Aycliffe, said: "It feels great to have completed phase one training. It's like completing a goal."
She will remain at HMS Raleigh for her specialist training to become a Royal Navy Steward.
Anton, 19, a former pupil of Branksome Comprehensive School, Darlington, follows in his brother Steven's footsteps in joining the Royal Navy.
He said: "My time at HMS Raleigh is something I will never forget and I am really proud of my achievements."
He now heads to HMS Sultan, near Portsmouth, for his professional training as a marine engineering mechanic.
