CHILDREN at a primary school are enjoying their play times more thanks to a developer's grant.
St Margaret's School, in the Nevilles Cross area of Durham City, received £6,000 to resurface the school's upper playground.
The donation was the first made from the Sheraton Park Community Benefits Fund, set up by mining company The Banks Group.
The County Durham-based business, which is behind a residential housing development at Sheraton Park, set up the fund to benefit good causes in the Nevilles Cross area.
The money was donated to the Friends of St Margaret School, which also raised money from to pay for playground markings.
Mark Dowdall, divisional director at The Banks Group, said: "Sheraton Park is an important development for us and it's important that the area has a vibrant and supportive community life.
"We want as many people as possible to benefit from the fund and are delighted to have given our first grant to St Margaret's School"
