A PUB is turning up the heat for its customers in a bid to raise money for charity.
The Normanby pub, in Middlesbrough, is holding a charity curry tasting night on Wednesday, March 1, in aid of Oxfam.
Curry fans will be invited to test their tastebuds and sample a selection of authentic Indian dishes.
And for each curry sold, a donation will be made to charity.
The event marks the launch of a weekly curry night at the Mitchells and Butlers pub, which manager Richard Semper said has been established in response to the demand for spicy foods from regular diners.
He said: "Steak and chips will always have a place in the heart of British pubs, but we have to move with the times and offer people what they want.
"We have done a lot of research, and there is a high demand for curry dishes among our customers and so we decided to dedicate one evening a week when we will serve a special curry menu.
"We will be celebrating the official launch of our curry night menu on Wednesday by inviting customers to try free samples of the new dishes, with the option of buying a full meal if they can decide on their favourite."
The tasting night starts at 5pm at the pub, in Normanby Road.
