Crook's Nigel Wright warmed up for his Spring title fight with a win over Valery Kharyanov on Saturday night.
Light-welterweight Wright overcame his Belarus opponent at the Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh, with a fourth round knockout, having already floored his opponent in the first.
Wright's record reads 16 wins, no draws and only one loss, with his next bout being against Londoner Lenny Daws for the vacant British light welterweight title.
Daws, who defeated Darlington's Oscar Hall in October, is undefeated in his 13 professional bouts and stunned a few people last month with a sensational victory over Colin Lynes to book a date with the highly-rated Wright.
Meanwhile, Alex Arthur's trainer admits the Edinburgh fighter put him through the mill during the defence of his British, Commonwealth and European super-featherweight titles against courageous Ricky Burns.
The Coatbridge fighter, roared on by around half the 2000-plus Meadowbank crowd, put up a brave and inspired performance over 12 exhausting rounds. But the champion was deservedly given the decision on points.
