PARENTS are being urged to take notice of their children's activities after a spate of anti-social behaviour.
Reports have been received from the public about youngsters misbehaving in Great Ayton on Friday nights.
Over the past three weeks, a team of police officers on bicycles and special constables have been concentrating on the area.
Officers have confiscated 17 litres of alcohol from underage youths and, in one case, a young girl was arrested for being drunk and was taken immediately to hospital and placed on a drip.
"It is apparent that youths are informing their parents they are staying at a friend's house, and youths from Great Ayton, Stokesley and Coulby Newham are pre-planning their meetings on Friday nights in Great Ayton," said Sarah Sanderson, of the local neighbourhood policing team.
She said every time an officer speaks to a youth, a form is completed and their details are logged within the police system.
A personal letter is sent to parents, informing them of where their child was and what the police officer witnessed their child doing at the time.
Over the past three consecutive Fridays, a total of 30 names and addresses have been obtained.
She added: "I ask that all parents are fully aware of what their children are doing, where they are going and, in particular, for their child not to get involved in pre-arranged meetings with other youths.
"Police officers will continue to concentrate on Great Ayton and, if youths are found committing offences, they may be subsequently be arrested or reported for summons."
