Arngrove Northern League: Consett's magnificent 24-game unbeaten run in the Second Division finally came to an end when Guisborough secured one of the shock results of the season on Saturday.
The league's third-bottom side beat them with a single goal, gaining ample revenge for the club's 12-1 thrashing at Consett back in September. Guisborough manager Andy Toman, who took charge soon after that defeat, said: "Consett had a lot of the ball, but we defended well and didn't allow them any space behind our defence.
"Our players worked really hard, and didn't allow them many chances.
"It's a marvellous result for the club, considering what happened earlier in the season."
Toman has completely overhauled the playing staff, with none of the players in the side hammered in September in the squad on Saturday.
Mark O'Bern was the player who smashed Consett's record, scoring with a left-foot shot into the top corner after 12 minutes.
Guisborough have now lost just once in their last eight matches, and are eight points above the relegation zone.
Consett finished the game with ten men because midfielder Alan Oliver had to go off with an ankle injury. Despite the defeat, Consett still have an 11-point lead and games in hand on most of the other promotion contenders.

Stephen Young added a third, and even though Steve Richardson pulled one back, Chilton completed his hat-trick. Durham's Stephen Leadbitter missed a late penalty.
Thornaby ended their seven game losing run coming from 2-0 down to draw at West Allotment.
Alex Houlsby and David Potts put Allotment in control, but Mark Salmon pulled one back with a header for Thornaby midway through the second half, then Neil Campbell equalised from the penalty spot.
Esh Winning are off the bottom after they drew 1-1 with Horden at Waterhouses.
Horden took the lead with a shot by Lee Ure midway through the first half, but Esh equalised when recent signing Nigel Bolton scored.
