PARENTS are being urged to take notice of where their children are and what they are up to following a spate of anti-social behaviour.
Reports have been received from the public about youngsters misbehaving in Great Ayton on Friday nights.
Over the past three weeks, police officers on bicycles and special constables have been concentrating on the area.
Officers have confiscated 17 litres of alcohol from underage youths and, in one case, a young girl was so drunk she was taken to hospital and placed on a drip.
Sarah Sanderson, of the local neighbourhood policing team, said: "It is apparent that youths are informing their parents they are staying at a friend's house, and youths from Great Ayton, Stokesley and Coulby Newham are pre-planning their meetings on Friday nights in Great Ayton."
She said that every time an officer spoke to a youth, their details are logged.
A letter is sent to parents informing them of where their child was and what the officer saw their child doing. Since the initiative started, 30 names and addresses have been obtained.
Ms Sanderson said: "I ask that all parents are fully aware of what their children are doing."
