A DISQUALIFIED driver who pretended to be his brother has been jailed.
Michael Hunt, 28, appeared in court twice pretending to be his brother, Johnathan, after police stopped him in April last year driving a Mondeo car.
Teesside Crown Court heard he had earlier been disqualified from driving, so gave false details to police.
He appeared as his brother in court on January 7 and January 14.
The offences came to light after his brother received a letter from the DVLA telling him points would be added to his licence. He contacted police and Michael Hunt was identified as the real driver.
Hunt, of Haswell Court, Stockton, was sentenced to a year in jail for perverting the course of justice and three months for driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
