PUPILS and staff at a north Durham school dressed as aliens and spacemen yesterday during a creativity week.
It is a regular feature for youngsters at Lanchester EP Primary School to be taught the curriculum geared around different themes.
This week's theme has been space and the children have been learning about the planets and solar system.
The infants created a life sized astronaut and a moon buggy as part of their art classes.
The school was overrun yesterday with little Buzz Lightyears, Princess Leias and some imaginative extra terrestrials.
Headteacher Jane Davis said: "The children have been loving every aspect of the week and they have been doing wonderfully well.
"They have really enjoyed coming in dressed up and there have been some very abstract designs."
The school's last creativity week was dragons and next term it will be fitness.
