A CAFE owner has called for the police to do more to stop a 12-strong group of bikers causing havoc.
John Simpson fears there could be a fatality at the Lord Stones Cafe, at the top of Carlton Bank, near Stokesley.
He said the bikers have been racing across crowded areas close to families and speeding along a bridleway used by walkers for the past 14 months.
"They come through the car park doing wheelies," he said. "They are just out to cause hell.
"They rip everything up, tearing around and sticking two fingers up at everyone."
Mr Simpson said he has contacted North Yorkshire Police about the gang several times, with no result.
Inspector John Richardson, head of the neighbourhood policing team, said: "Over the past few years we have had numerous calls there.
"Due to its isolated location and beauty spot car park, it does attract the wrong people from time to time. We have frequently spoken to Mr Simpson and have had reports from him that we have dealt with.
"If there is a problem with a particular incident, he can refer it to me, but I don't have a problem in general with our response in terms of the cafe."
