A COLOURFUL glass window was been unveiled by pupils from an art club.
In only four hours of a workshop, youngsters from Norton primary and secondary schools painted self-portraits onto glass panes.
Dozens of the glass panes were put together to form a huge centrepiece in Norton Primary's main hall.
The Art Club, created by Stockton Borough Council's Arts Development Service, was run by Creative Glass, whose director, Tony Campbell, said: "It was a sheer delight to work with the parents and pupils to create this piece of work.
"They drew self-portraits of themselves and portraits of their oldest relatives and we put them side-by-side on the glass panel to show the family likeness. It's an excellent piece of glass work."
The club is partly funded by the Big Lottery.
The window was unveiled during assembly on Tuesday by Councillor Jean O'Donnell.
She said: "Norton Art Club's output is prolific and the aim behind the project, to get parents and older pupils to mentor younger pupils, is paying dividends."
