DETECTIVES are trying to trace the last movements of murdered Audrey Badger by trawling through hours of footage from security cameras.
The 42-year-old mother-of-five, of Thornaby, Teesside, was found murdered in her home at about 5am on Saturday.
Officers have found film showing her being dropped off at her Stirling Way home by a taxi with a male friend at about midnight.
Her body was found five hours later by a lodger who returned from a night out.
Footage from Stockton Borough Council's security system, nearby shops and two private homes will hopefully lead detectives to the killer.
Detective Chief Inspector Darren Best said: "It will take some time to go through film like this because it is essential that nothing is missed.
"We are especially looking for any trace of Audrey's movements leading up to that final fateful taxi ride and beyond and, hopefully, the footage we have recovered will do just that. If necessary, technology is available to enhance images that have been captured."
Detectives believe she knew her killer and have carried out extensive house-to-house inquiries, questioning more than 250 people.
They have also questioned the taxi driver who dropped off Mrs Badger, accompanied by a man, close to her home on February 11.
Ms Badger's 12-year-old twin daughters have pleaded with their mother's killer to hand themselves in to police.
They have also written a list of nine questions relating to the murder.
Det Chief Insp Best said: "Some of the questions - who found their mother's body, who rang the police and what were her injuries - I can deal with.
"Others lie purely in the domain of her killer.
"I would ask that person to look into their conscience and think very carefully because sooner, rather than later, officers are going to be knocking on their door."
Forensic experts from London and Wetherby, West Yorkshire, have joined more than 40 officers on the investigation team.
Det Chief Insp Best said: "Several lines of inquiry are being followed and each step we take in this investigation leads us nearer her killer."
