A SCHOOL football team is hoping to head to the top of the league after agreeing a sponsorship deal.
Topps Tiles will sponsor Belmont Junior School, which plays in the Chester-le-Street Schools League.
The team was formed in September and players are aged from nine to 11.
The tiles and flooring chain supports 200 school teams around the country and the latest sponsorship deal has been arranged by the firm's Pity Me store and teachers Helen Kipling and Karen Roberts.
Store assistant manager Dave Burnikell said: "Topps is keen to give something back to the local community.
"We are all football fans and hope the children can really benefit from our direct investment."
