POLICE and firefighters began a three-day clean-up of a North Yorkshire housing estate yesterday.
Operation Enable is taking place on the Hambleton estate, in Thirsk.
Rubbish will be cleared, signs fixed, speeding drivers warned and every house on the estate visited and given a home safety check-up.
Today, residents are invited to talk to officers at a roadshow at Thirsk County Primary School from 3.30pm to 7pm.
The clean-up is being led by Hambleton Community Safety Partnership, whose chairman, Rosemary Taylor, said: "These campaigns are a completely new approach to tackling environmental crime - everything from abandoned cars and fly tipping to anti-social behaviour and fine defaulters are targeted."
The operation finishes tomorrow.
