MATTY Robson believes Tranmere will see a different Hartlepool United tonight, when the sides meet for the second time in four weeks.
After a drab goalless draw at Victoria Park last month, Pool go to Prenton Park for the return.
Following four points from two games under the temporary stewardship of Paul Stephenson, Pool are fast restoring their confidence levels.
That is in stark contrast to the Pool team which faced Brian Little's side during the closing stages of Martin Scott's ill-fated reign.
Robson admitted Stephenson's positive outlook has rubbed off on everyone at the club - crowd, staff and players alike.
That helped Pool on the way to a first win in 11 games last week.
"People were a bit downbeat because results hadn't been going our way,'' admitted Robson, who blasted the winning goal against Chesterfield.
"The fans were down and now you can see the positive attitude around the club.
"That all comes from Paul Stephenson, he's that sort of character. He likes his teams to get the ball down and pass it and you can see that in the way his youth team plays.
"He has brought a lot of confidence to the team and the lads.
"We are not worried about mistakes, we are just getting on with our football and enjoying it.
"Passing the ball about towards the end, we even got the occasional 'ole' from the crowd which we haven't had for a while! That shows we are enjoying things.''
And he added: "The confidence has been lifted, a point at Rotherham was a massive result, especially keeping a clean sheet.
"Winning the next game has really helped us all and it put some pressure on the other teams around us.
"We jumped up a few places and it made other teams look at us and what we have done.
"Hopefully it's onwards and upwards from now.''
Stephenson tonight takes control of his third game, and Pool don't have a match until a week on Saturday, when Doncaster visit Victoria Park.
The former Pool player of the year will stay in charge until being told otherwise by the chairman.
And, after making changes in each of his last two games, Stephenson is ready to do the same tonight.
He said: "We played some good football against Chesterfield and, for me, that was the key.
"The longer we kept the ball the harder it was for the opposition - and that was the case.
"I didn't want to pick a team that would contain Chesterfield, I wanted a team that would go at them.
"I'm not the type of person to look to hold back and contain - that's not the Hartlepool way. At home, it's up to you to take the game to the opposition.
"It might be different away from home, but not at home.
"Two clean sheets is huge for confidence, getting a goal was the key.''
Rovers will be without former Sunderland midfielder Jason McAteer tonight.
He suffered a hamstring strain in the draw at Gillingham last Saturday.
