A REGIMENTAL museum and art gallery is opening its doors to show teachers what it has to offer them.
The Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery is holding a free open day for teachers on Saturday.
Teachers, school staff and their families will be able to find out about First and Second World War handling collections and exhibitions, take a look around the art gallery and discover more about art resources available on the museum's website.
Sarah Gouldsbrough, Durham County Council's schools development officer, said: "There will also be an opportunity to book a science session, with hands-on activities in the art gallery from March 11 to April 23.
"Visitors will also be able to find out more about award-winning Killhope, the North of England Lead Mining Museum and what it has to offer, while members of the Heritage Education Around Durham Partnership will also be on hand with exhibitions and stalls."
Schools interested in receiving further information should contact Ms Gouldsbrough on 0191-384 2214.
