DARLINGTON will be taking the feelgood factor to promotion rivals Peterborough United tonight and manager David Hodgson can't wait.

After Saturday's home draw with play-off seeking Bristol Rovers, Quakers complete a crucial double header at London Road.

Sixth-placed Quakers lead a quartet of clubs on 46 points, including Posh, who lie just one place below them.

But, as precarious as their current position is, and as high as the stakes are this evening, Hodgson remains at ease with the task ahead.

"As long as we continue to play with the same commitment we have been, there is no need to worry about those below us," said Hodgson.

"We're on a very good run and as long as we keep on picking up the points, what happens elsewhere doesn't concern me."

The sides met last month at the 96.6 TFM Darlington Arena. Quakers won 2-1 thanks to goals from on loan duo Paul Hopkins and Kyle Lafferty to start their current six-match unbeaten run.

"There's a good feeling about the place and games can't come soon enough for us at the moment," said Hodgson.

"I thought the lads showed tremendous character to get themselves back into the game on Saturday, especially so soon after Bristol scored.

"I'm sure Peterborough will make it very difficult for us.

"But, we beat them last month and we know we're capable of beating them again."

Fulham midfielder Neale McDermott is included in the squad after joining the club on a month-long loan yesterday.

The 20-year-old arrives on the recommendation of his father, Newcastle coach Terry McDermott.

With Phil Stamp (toe) and Anthony Peacock (calf) injured and Adrian Webster on international duty with New Zealand, Hodgson has moved quickly to strengthen his midfield options.

Jonjo Dickman and Clark Keltie will start, meaning McDermott will start from the bench tonight.

"It's incredible how similar he is to his dad, both in looks and the way he plays," said Hodgson, who has reported no fresh injury worries ahead of tonight's game.

"We've had a bit of a crisis in midfield and it was important that we brought in another body."

McDermott was loaned out to Swindon earlier this season, where he made 16 appearances for the struggling League One side.

Hodgson has all but ended his interest in former Quakers striker Alun Armstrong and was yesterday talking to a club from a higher division to discuss the availability of an experienced striker.

If Hodgson fails to push through a deal today then Akpo Sodje and Guy Bates will compete for a place alongside Lafferty.

Goalkeeper Lee Harrison keeps his place for Peterborough, with Mark Taylor ruled by a broken rib. Northern Ireland international striker James Quinn is back after injury.
