ALMOST 50 people turned up to for the clean-up event to spruce up the area along the Guisborough Greenway on Sunday.
Countryside staff from Guisborough Forest and Walkway were joined by volunteers, young rangers, pupils and parents from Highcliffe Primary and Belmont Primary schools along Coun Bill Clarke and Town Coun Sheila Hollyoake, to smarten the area up.
Over 30 bags of rubbish were collected in under two hours plus various wheels, tin sheeting, crates and a dead rat.
Charity Action Earth helped provide the equipment needed by the volunteers to clean up the area.
