AN MP has been shown how computer technology is revolutionising the training of apprentice engineers.
Redcar MP Vera Baird unveiled a new IT suite at the TTE Technical Group training centre, on Teesside, which features the latest in interactive presentation technology.
The suite has been created out of TTE's partnership with Redcar and Cleveland College. The college secured the funding for the project.
Apprentices can take skills exams on-line with almost instantaneous results.
The system also allows apprentices who have failed the exam to re-sit the next day.
Keith Leslie, TTE apprenticeship business director, said: "The suite has helped us change the way we can deliver training to our apprentices. The addition of remote broadcasts from the workshops add another dimension."
