A DOG creche service for owners who work during the day is due to be opened in Newton Aycliffe.
The business was originally planned for Darlington, but its owners could not get planning permission.
It will be run by two former workers at the dog rescue centre in Sadberge, and will also have an open day to launch the service.
Gill Crawford and Andrea Rogers will open their business, K9 Pursuits, at Whitworth Avenue, Newton Aycliffe, on March 1. Three days later the public will be invited to look round.
They set up the business to look after dogs whose owners could not look after them during the day.
The creche has room for 28 dogs, which can be left for a full or half day. Special five-day rates are also available.
Their £40,000 venture was due to be opened in Darlington but their proposed venue was refused planning permission because it was too close to homes.
On the open day there will be dog training demonstrations, as well as a display by the Sadberge dogs trust.
