A TALENTED young netball player has been selected for a training camp attended by some of the best netballers in the country.
Rachel Dauber, 15, has been chosen to attend the England Netball Training Camp next month after excelling in her school team.
Rachel, a pupil at Hurworth School Maths and Computing College, will take part in several trials with the squad and said she was "really excited" at the prospect.
The youngster, who plays in goal attack, has played netball since she was eight, and said it was a dream come true to be selected.
"It's a brilliant opportunity and it's what I've always wanted to do. I love playing netball, and have done since I was only young" said Rachel, from Hurworth.
"All my friends are really pleased for me, and my mum and dad are really proud."
Rita Rees, one of Rachel's teachers at Hurworth School, said the everyone was delighted with her achievement.
"Rachel is a lovely girl and she's done brilliantly. We're delighted for her," she said.
