TEA rooms staff have raised more than £50,000 for charity by organising a series of quizzes, theme nights and pantomimes.
The amount is a record for employees at Bettys and its sister company Taylors of Harrogate.
Staff have donated the money to seven charities in Yorkshire and three working overseas.
To mark the record total, confectioners at Bettys' craft bakery in Harrogate made a large gift cake.
The cake, bearing the names of all the charities to benefit, was shown off by staff at the York tea rooms on Wednesday.
Bosses at the Northallerton tea rooms decided to present £2,000 of the cash to the Northallerton and Dales Mencap Society.
The money will help them to fund much needed facilities at the Mencap Centre, Northallerton.
