Darlington Borough Council has joined forces with police to crack down on nuisance motorcyclists.
Since the operation got under way last weekend, one vehicle has been seized and 12 anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos) have been issued.
The operation began after complaints from residents about motorcyclists riding dangerously, and the council's uniformed wardens received up to three calls a day about the issue.
There have also been numerous reports of mini-moto bikes and off-road vehicles being ridden on the streets, as well as damaging parks and open spaces.
A dedicated police officer has been assigned to the problem who uses a motorbike to chase anyone using mini-motos on prohibited land.
Community wardens have also stepped up patrols and will target all areas in the borough.
Asbos are also being served and anyone who gets one will have their bike taken away if they are caught a second time.
Bill Dixon, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for community and public protection, said: "It is totally unacceptable that the actions of these riders are causing damage to our environment."
Anyone with information about such incidents can contact police on 0845 60 60 365 or the council's wardens on 07816 820048, in confidence if necessary.
