PLANS for 42 flats for elderly people in Darlington have been unanimously approved.
Darlington Borough Council's planning committee yesterday gave permission for the development, at Rosemary Court, in Fenby Avenue.
The application was made by Hanover Housing, which will work in partnership with the council.
The application was to convert the existing home at Rosemary Court and extend it to provide extra-care flats.
There were concerns about the loss of trees at the site.
Conditions were attached to the plan to ensure there was planting of new trees on the site.
