A CHARITY to help homeless people has appealed to businesses for financial help.
Stop2Night aims to provide short-term accommodation for people aged between 16 and 25 in Darlington and Teesdale, and pays families to offer them a roof over their heads.
It asked for only £10 per year from businesses, which charity workers say makes a "huge difference," and so far Wilkinson's, Sainsbury's and Darlington Building Society have been among those to offer a donation.
Bridget Chapman, Stop2Night co-ordinator, said: "We are so grateful for the money we have received so far.
"But I would appeal to others to help us as much as they can."
Any business which wants to contribute can contact Ms Chapman on (01325) 382737.
