A Yorkshire Dales brewery is producing an ale that was first brewed in London, in the 1700s.
Porter is the latest beer to be sold by the Wensleydale Brewery, in Bellerby, near Leyburn.
The 6.6 per cent alcohol ale fell out of favour with drinkers following the rise in popularity of lighter beers and lagers.
However, Richard Thompson, who launched the brewery with old school friend Peter Fairhall in 2003, said there was still a market for the beer.
He said: "Porter reminds older people of yesteryear, but younger drinkers are also sampling it and realising it's a nice drink."
Wensleydale Porter is described as a rich ale, brimming with roasted malt, raisins and molasses with a lingering hoppy bitterness.
The beer is only available in bottles at Campbell's supermarket, in Leyburn, and Allen's, in Hawes.
