A MAN who videoed himself raping an unconscious 17-year-old girl was jailed for seven years yesterday.

The judge told bricklayer Malcolm Horsley, 27, that the teenager would never have consented to the sex that he filmed on his mobile phone.

The five clips included shots of the father-of-two grinning.

Horsley claimed that she consented to the early-morning sex session in her bedroom, in Hartlepool, but she went to the police when people in the area started talking about the videos. He said that his mother and other family members saw the shots.

Sarah Mallett, prosecuting, accused him of telling 26 lies in his interviews with police.

He claimed that she made false allegations because she discovered that he had a girlfriend who he thought was pregnant.

Judge Guy Whitburn QC told him at Teesside Crown Court: "It's quite clear that she was comatose.

"She was fast asleep and totally unaware of what you were doing to her, and she made clear to the jury in her frank testimony of her previous sexual activity with you that she would not have consented."

Horsley, of Ensign Court, Hartlepool, was jailed for seven years after the jury's ten to two majority guilty verdicts to three charges of rape. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
